Meteorological Day observed in Quetta

QUETTA: The World Meteorological Day was observed the other day in Quetta as elsewhere in the country and the world.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department arranged an exhibition of the scientific equipment at the Geophysical Center near Fatima Jinnah TB Sanatorium the same day.
The exhibition remained continued from 10:00 AM to 02:00 PM at the center.
Different images of ozone, cyclones and other developments received from the satellite besides the equipment were put on display in the exhibition.
The general public visiting the exhibition were informed about performance of the department and other related things.
It may be mentioned here that since 1961, World Meteorological Day is being commemorated.
Each year, the celebrations focus on a theme of topical interest.
The theme for this year, “Climate knowledge for climate action,†provides an opportunity to take stock of the climate knowledge built in the last decades as an essential base to support the path towards more ambitious action to address climate change and climate variability
