QUETTA: The provincial government has decided to launch campaign for elimination of cheating and use of unfair means in the Intermediate exams starting from April 7 in the province.
A meeting of the secondary and higher education departments was held for elimination of cheating in the examinations here the other day.
The meeting was attended by the Additional Secretary for Secondary Education, Asfandyar Khan, Chairman BISE Professor Saadullah Khan, senior official of the High Education department, Hayatullah Kakar, Controller Examinations, Director Schools and Colleges, representatives of the UNICEF and other concerned high ups.
It was informed that the provincial government has decided to launch campaign on the pattern of matric examinations in order to eliminate the Inter exams starting from April 7.
The secretaries of the administrative departments, commissioners, deputy commissioners, directors schools and colleges and other concerned high ups would be supervising the examinations and make the inspection more effective.
It was also decided that tough security measures would be adopted during the examinations all over the province.
There would be a complete ban on cheating in the examinations. Those candidates found appearing in exams in place of others would be arrested and legal action would be taken against them, the meeting decided further.
Thorough body search of the candidates would be conducted before their entry in the exam centers.
Moreover, there would also be complete ban on use of mobile phones and other unfair means in the exams. The same would be confiscated if was recovered from the candidates during search, it was warned.
Their papers would also be cancelled in case of recovery of mobile phones and other things besides taking action against them.
While on the other hand, the shops of photo state and other outlets dealing in the papers or other material would be sealed. Otherwise stern action would be taken against the shopkeepers.
In order to tackle any untoward situation, the personnel of law enforcement agencies would be deployed, it was mentioned further.
Similarly, the meeting decided to conduct seminars about creating awareness against the curse of cheating and use of other unfair means in the examinations.
The students and other persons may register their complaints regarding cheating in the exams on UAN @ 081-111-098765, 9204127, 9204126 or 9204128.
Moreover, the exam control cell would also receive complaints about cheating during the examination hours.
Meanwhile, according to Chairman of Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Professor Saadullah Khan Tokhai, over 57,000 candidates (male and female) would be appearing in the examinations from all over the province. They are included over 20,000 belonging to Quetta district, he added.
As many as 157 examination centers have been set up all over the province with at least 50 centers to be established in Quetta.
They are included 33 for male candidates and 17 for female candidates, Professor Tokhai mentioned.
Three exam centers would be set up in Quetta, Mach and Gaddani jail (one each).
