LAHORE, Sept 20 (Online): In continuation of IJT vandalism on campus, Punjab University Institute of Communication Studies (PU-ICS) senior clerk Friday received a pistol bullet as ‘life threat’. The bullet has been handed over to the PU security officers along with application of life threats and request of appropriate action.

According to details in the application no. D/2534/ics dated 20-09-13, PU ICS senior clerk Muhammad Iqbal received a message from a guard about some visitor at the main entrance of the ICS, when Iqbal reached there an IJT activist handed over Iqbal a wrapped pink tissue paper with the message, “there is something for you because what you are”. When Iqbal open it he saw a pistol bullet. He was astonished.

Latter he reached at the ICS main gate where some IJT activists were standing. He recognized former IJT ICS nazim Hafiz Luqman (PU expelled and expulsion endorsed by LHC)and asked him about the bullet at which another IJT worker namely Abdul Kabir (currently in PU Law college) said, “We are doing our job and you do your”.

Iqbal wrote earlier around four month ago some IJT workers tried to stop him and other four of his fellows, however, they didn’t stop their bikes and rushed to the ICS premises. Muhammad Iqbal and other employees of ICS have demanded PU Admin and Punjab Government to take strick action against those involved in giving life threat to government officials in ICS.

It is noteworthy that currently like other departments, admission stalls have been established outside ICS and IJT have been stopped by the PU admin to establish their political membership stalls along with admission stalls.

The vice chancellor had himself visited ICS on Thursday and removed IJT flag from the stalls as part of PU policy to make university apolitical. Before this IJT Hafiq Luqman had given threats to ICS incharge director Dr Noshina Saleem on a phone call after she didn’t allowed IJT to establish their membership stalls.

All teachers and employees of PU ICS have condemned life threats given by IJT to the employees of their institutions.
