QUETTA: Divisional Director Health, Dr. Muhammad Nawaz Kibzai has said that the government is doing its best to prevent the endemic measles disease in the province.
He stated so during his surprise visit to different health establishments in Kuchlak and Pishin areas the other day.
He said that measles is a dangerous disease which can take life of those effected, so we have to ensure immunization of the children up to 10 years of age.
He said that measures are being taken for prevention of the measles on emergent basis. A full fledged immunization campaign has already been launched in the province, he mentioned.
He urged the parents to ensure administration of vaccine to the children in their nearby health centers. He also asked the health staff to perform their duties well as no negligence would be tolerated whatsoever during the campaign, adding he asserted. Strict action would be taken against those health officials committing negligence in their duties during the anti-measles campaign.
Meanwhile, he also inspected the process of immunization at the Rural Health Center Bostan and the Government Girls High School there.
He also said that the measles immunization centers have also been set up in different areas of Kuchlak and Bostan. Now it is responsibility of the parents to get their children vaccinated against the measles at these centers, the Divisional Director of Health maintained.
