CM-Subsidy on agri tube wells, wheat

QUETTA Apr 24 (PPI): Balochistan government was paying Rupees 10 billion subsidy on agri tube wells and wheat annually.
This was stated by Balochistan chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch while clarifying a point of order in provincial assembly here Friday. Point of order was raised by provincial Minister Sardar Mustafa Tareen.
Speaker Jan Muhammad Jamali was in the chair.
Sardar Mustafa Tareen said that there was only two hours supply of electricity in his area. It is at a time when there is time for crops sowing and hot weather has just started. He said people fo Islamabad during their visit to Quetta make promises but forget on return. With the situation people are facing great difficulties. If same continues they would pull electricity poles and leave them in Islamabad.
Chief Minister said an agreement was made with Water and Power officials and they had agreed to supply electricity for eight hours a day. But it was not being supplied as promised. He said we would look into the matter.
He said it is not true government was noting doing anything for agriculture. He said government was paying Rupees 10 billion subsidy on electricity for agri tube wells and wheat. No other government was giving such a massive subsidy.
