District administration starts action against plastic bag whole sellers

QUETTA: The Quetta district administration has started crackdown against the whole sale shops supplying plastic shopping bags as well as the show rooms causing traffic congestion and disruption in the traffic flow.
According to the official sources, the crackdown has been started on directives of the Balochistan High Court.
Initially, the show rooms which were not having the parking spaces and were parking their vehicles for sale on the roads had been served notices.
On non-compliance of the notices served, the show rooms were sealed. Moreover, the notices have also been issued to the show room owners of Adalat road, Joint road and those operating in other parts of the city and causing traffic problems.
Meanwhile, the Special Magistrate raided on the plastic bag selling shops on Sirki road.
Eight shops were sealed on the Sirki road during crackdown.
The official sources further told that the district administration has also decided to serve notices to the private hospitals which are not having the parking facility and park the vehicles on the roads.
Similarly, the action is also being taken against the encroachments in different parts of the city.
It is believed that the issues of traffic would be resolved with the initiatives being taken by the administration.
