QUETTA: A delegation of the Balochistan Bus Federation led by Mir Saeed Lehri called on the leader of the Opposition Leader in provincial Assembly, Maulana Abdul Wasey and Member Provincial Assembly, Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran here the other day.
Also included in the delegation were the transporters’ leaders Akhtar Kakar, Babul Kurd, , Abdul Qadir Raisani, Sher Ahmed, Shafi Lehri, Muhammad Ishaq.
During the course of meeting, the issues being faced by the transporters and masses came up for threadbare discussion.
Maulana Abdul Wasey assured that the Jamiat would raise voice for solution of the transporters, as they particularly referred to the issues related to the shifting of city bus terminals to the Hazar Ganji.
They would continue to raise voice for issues of the transporters until and unless they are resolved. Earlier, the transporters’ leaders also had a meeting with the Ameer of Jama’at-e-Islami Balochistan, Abdul Mateen Akhunzada and its other leaders.
They also sought their support and role in convincing the government to resolve the issues of transporters meeting their genuine demands.
The transporters were of the view that they have no issue to shift the terminals to Hazar Ganji, but the government should do the needful in this regard, they said. The necessary facilities should be provided in the Hazar Ganji bus terminal so that the transporters and passengers may not face any issue. Similarly, the necessary steps should also be taken to improve the law and order situation there, the further pleaded.
Needless to mention here is that the provincial government had already given an ultimatum to the transporters to shift their city terminals to Hazar Ganji, otherwise stern action would be taken against them. However, the transporters are resisting the government’s directives in this regard.
