QUETTA: A seminar on production of onion was held at the Vegetable Seed Farm here the other day. The Agriculture Research Institute organized the seminar in collaboration with the Directorate of seed growth, vegetables and World Vegetables Organization in which zamindars from Quetta, Pishin and Mastung and the scientists of the Agriculture Research Institute participated.
Director General Research, Dr. Javed Tareen was the chief guest while the vegetable expert, Maazullah Khan Babar presided over the seminar. Also present on the occasion were the Director of Directorate of Seed Growth, Bashir Ahmed Bangulza, Soil Chemist, Hidayatullah and the senior officials from the Seed Certification Department and others were also present.
The experts presented their research papers.
Speaking on the occasion, Bashir Ahmed Bangulzai mentioned that steps are being taken to procure production of the certified seed of the onion.
He urged the growers to get training from the Agriculture department and get the production of certified seeds.
Maazullah Khan also addressed and assured every possible cooperation to the department and the growers on behalf of his organization.
He said that his organization would work together with the provincial department to achieve the goal of production of quality seeds.
