Route permits of poor conditioned buses to be cancelled: RTA

QUETTA: The Secretary Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Quetta, Amanullah Khan Panezai has issued directives to suspend the route permits of the poor-conditioned buses plying or parked on the Brewery road.
According to an official hand out issued here, several such buses have been parked in front of the hospital and school on the Brewery road instead of running them on the route.
The parked buses are causing traffic disruption on the Brewery road, it was pointed out. The public had complained that the bus owners of these buses have sold the time table to the buses plying on other routes, which is an illegal.
Moreover, condition of majority of the buses plying on the Brewery route is poor. So, the Secretary RTA issued notice to the bus owners / operators to bring improvement in condition of the buses at the earliest otherwise their route permits would be cancelled and the buses would be impounded, adding he warned.
