Karachi: people attack police station after death of accused in lockup

KARACHI Sept 23 (Online): People launched attack on Malir Police Station while protesting against death of a held accused in lockup of that police in Karachi.
According to police, expired accused Naveed was involved in many crimes of attempted murders and money extortions in the city.
SSP Nasir Aftab said while talking to media that Naveed ‘s dead body will be sent to hospital for postmortem and a probe will be launched to know causes of his death.
Fellows of deceased accused surrounded the police station, attacked on police, and hurled crackers towards them while protesting against death of Naveed, told SSP Nasir Aftab on the occasion, saying police will take strict action against those as well.
