Sports Minister says formal inauguration of national
level flood light cricket event to be on 26th; 40
teams from all over country taking part; tourney
to help promote soft image of Balochistan

QUETTA: All Pakistan T-20 Balochistan Ramadan Cup Cricket Tournament is in progress in the Bugti Stadium here.
While the divisional level matches of the Balochistan-leg Tournament has already been organized in Makran, Naseerabad, Kalat and Quetta, its main round is continued in Quetta. However, the formal inauguration of the national level cricketing event is scheduled to be made on June 26 at the same venue.
The inaugural ceremony would include the firework, folk music, national songs and other colourful programme.
Similar colourful events would also remain continued during throughout the tournament in the Bugti Stadium till the end i.e., on July 04 when its closing ceremony would be held.
This and similar other details were provided by the Minister Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, Mir Mujeebur Rehman Muhammad Hassani while addressing a press conference along with the Deputy Inspector General of Frontier Corps (FC), Brigadier Tahir Mehmood here at the Officers’ Club on Thursday.
The Provincial Minister for Sports said that the national level cricket competition is jointly being organized by the Sports Department, Frontier Corps (FC) and Southern Command of the Pak Army in collaboration with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). As many as 40 teams from all over the country are taking part in the touranemnt.
He said that the slogan of the tournament is: Jeeway Jeeway Balochistan, Jeeway Jeeway Pakistan.
This slogan reflects the spirit of the Pakistani nation, said the Minister Sports adding that existence of Balochistan depends on Pakistan. The survival of Pakistan is due to prosperous and peaceful Balochistan, he maintained.
Muhammad Hassani on the occasion said that the objective behind organizing the tournament is to highlight the soft image of Balochistan and improve the situation, which is otherwise mandatory for the development process.
He particularly urged the media not to leave any stone unturned in projection of the tournament promoting the soft image of the province.
The Minister Sports also referred to the achievements made by the provincial government under leadership of the Chief Minister, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch in different sectors including sports.
He said that the government has increased the grant-in-aid of the provincial sports associations affiliated with the Balochistan Sports Board in order to organize the sports at the grassroots level.
He also referred to different sports events organized by the provincial sports department in collaboration with the FC and Pak Army in the past in Balochistan.
We organized the mega event of Balochistan Sports Festivals on March 23, 2014 and 2015. Different divisional level sports competitions were also organized in the province, he maintained.
He applauded the role of the Pak Army, FC and particularly the Commander Southern Command Lt. General Nasir Khan Janjua. Similarly, he also commended the key role played by the Chief Minister, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch and Chief Secretary, Saifullah Chattha in making the sports competitions a great success and thus promoting soft image of province in the world.
