QUETTA: A meeting was held to fix the prices of sweets and other items here the other day. The Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue), Muhammad Yasir Khan Bazai presided over the meeting.
Those who were present in the meeting were Assistant Commissioner Quetta City, Tariq Mengal, Assistant Commissioner Quetta Sadar, Munir Ahmed Mosiani, Joint Director Weight and Measurement, Saifur Rehman, Focal Person PSQC, Abdul Waheed and owners of different sweet shops.
The meeting decided to fix the rates of sweets on the eve of Eidul Fitr in order to provide relief to the masses.
It was decided that the sweets would be sold at Rs. 430 per kilogram as was decided in the meeting. It was also decided that the shopkeepers would display the rates of sweets at their outlets prominently. Otherwise, action would be taken against them. It was also decided to take action against those selling sub-standard and stale sweets. In this regard, Special Magistrates have also been given the special task.
