Heavy rainfall & risk of flashflood: Divisional & district administrations to be vigilant

QUETTA: The Commissioners of all the Divisions and Deputy Commissioners of all the districts have been directed to remain present in their respective divisions and districts and make the emergency centers established there fully effective so as to tackle any emergent situation timely following the monsoon rains and flashflood.
This directive has been issued by the Chief Minister Balochistan, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch here the other day.
The Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners have also been asked to be fully vigilant and make the emergency centers operational round the clock.
Moreover, it was directed to heads of the divisional and district administration to ensure safety of the people living in the low lying areas along the streams and nullahs in case any untoward situation is created following the heavy rainfall and flashfloods in their areas.
Effective measures should be taken to shift the people living in low lying areas to the safer places, the Chief Minister directed further.
Needless to mention here is that the weather warning had been issued for the parts of Balochistan the other day.
According to the warning, due to the unstable weather conditions and significant monsoon rains, there would be risk of flash flooding in the low streams and nullahs of the province besides some other parts of the country during next couple of days.
People living in the low lying areas were advised to remain careful as due to heavy fall, there is risk of flash flooding.
The people have also been asked to extend full cooperation to the administration in this regard so as to save the precious lives.
