QUETTA: The Provincial Ministers Nawab Ayaz Khan Jogezai and Dr. Hamid Khan Achakzai have categorically stated that the government is firm to compensate the losses caused due to the recent torrential rains in Zhob and Shirai districts.
This and similar views were expressed by the Provincial Ministers while addressing the district officers in Circuit House, Zhob.
The Deputy Commissioner Zhob Nazar Muhammad Khetran, Deputy Commissioner, Shirani, Azeem Kakar briefed the visiting Ministers about the situation of heavy rains as well as the losses caused due to the rains and flood like situation there.
They informed that few districts of the province have been affected in the torrential rains including Zhob and Shirani.
They regretfully pointed out that certain complaints have been received regarding absent teachers and doctors in the flood affected areas despite heavy spending by the government on health and education sectors.
The Ministers said that the medicines as well as other facilities are being provided to the patients, but it is an unfortunate that our doctors are busy in their private clinics instead of discharging their duties at their respective official work places.
On one hand, we are facing the issue of flood while on the other hand, we are experiencing the issue of absenteeism which is equally important, they said.
They directed to all the government employees to ensure their attendance at their respective work places.
Otherwise, stern action would be taken against the absentee staff without any discrimination and irrespective of their party affiliation, adding they warned.
Meanwhile, briefing the Ministers about the flood situation and the losses caused in Zhob and Shirani districts, the Deputy Commissioners said that standing crops were damaged due to the rains on one hand while damages were also caused to the safety badats, karezat and the houses in the districts.
Two truck load of relief goods including ration have been provided in Zhob.
