PIA Engineering Training Center opens in Quetta

QUETTA: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Aviation, Cap (retd) Shujaat Azeem and Chief Minister Balochistan, Dr. Abudl Malik Baloch Monday jointly inaugurated Pakistan Airlines Training Center at PIA Quetta Office where selected students would get education of engineering pertaining to aviation, aeronautical and airports.
Addressing the ceremony, Mr. Azeem said that PIA Quetta Training Center will be eighth training center of the country where students having degree of F.Sc and Pre-Engineering would be given admission to get education of engineering. “Teachers being invited from Germany will impart education of engineering to the students at PIA training center,” he said.
He said that on the special directives of Prime Minister, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, the work on extension of Quetta International Airport will be started from 28th September this year which would be completed within one year. “Gulf states are going to purchase 350 new passenger airplanes and airlines will need thousands of new engineers,” he said, adding that the incumbent government wanted to see Pakistani engineers working in different airlines including of Gulf states and other countries.
He said that Prime Minister, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has been paying special attention towards the development of Balochistan. “Prime Minister had directed to launch new mega projects in Balochistan to put the province on track of development,” he said.__APP
