Routes of Muharram processions: Quetta administration imposes ban on all constructions

QUETTA: The Quetta district administration has imposed a ban on all types of constructions on the routes of Muharram processions in the metropolis.
According to an order of the Deputy Commissioner Quetta, the ban would be imposed on stocking construction material or remains of the buildings under section 144 from 1st to 12th Muharramul Haram.
There would also be ban on the trucks or tractors carrying the construction material on routes of the processions to be taken out during Muharramul Haram.
The routes as mentioned in the order are included: Alamdar road, Toghi road, Taj Muhammad Lane, Mission road chowk, Bacha Khan chowk, Liaquat Bazaar, Archar road, Prince road, McCongy road, Dr. Yasin Street and Saeed Ahmed Road as well as Spinny road, Brewery road (Bolan Medical Complex to Women University) and Hazara Town road.
Earlier, the Quetta district administration had decided to adopt fool proof security measures for the processions and gatherings (majalis) of the Muharramul Haram in Quetta district.
The decision to this effect was made during a meeting chaired by the Deputy Commissioner, Abdul Wadood Khilji here the other day. Those who were in attendance were included: Assistant Commissioner Quetta City, Muhammad Tariq Mengal, Superintendent of Police (Security), Syed Javed Shah, SP Traffic, Nazir Ahmed, Municipal Engineer, Metropolitan Corporation, besides the high ups of the Civil Defence, Sui Southern Gas Company, PTCL, Water and Sanitation Authority, Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO), besides representatives of the Sandeman Provincial Headquarter Hospital, Benazir Hospital and Bolan Medical Complex Hospital.
The meeting decided to take stringent measures for security of the Muharram processions and majalis besides security of the routes and the places and other related issues.
It was decided to seal all the routes of the processions besides conducting their search on an emergent basis.
Moreover, the maintenance of the street lights would also be completed well in time. The street lights would be installed where ever these are not installed yet.
The schedule of the power load shedding would also be changed in the concerned areas, it was decided further.
