RAWALPINDI, September 24 (Online): The Pakistan Ex-Servicemen Association (PESA) strongly, condemning the terrorist attack on a church in Peshawar, decided to provide free security on Sundays to all churches in Pakistan

In a message to the monks of Saint Catherine's Monastery, Mount Sinai, the PESA said the Prophet (PBUH) showed his high regard for Christians and said: “Verily, I defend them by myself, the servants, the helpers, and my followers, because Christians are my citizens; and by Allah! I hold out against anything that displeases them and no compulsion is to be on them.

The Meesaq-e-Madinah and the Holy Prophet’s last sermon also serve as injunctions about treatment of religious minorities, it added.

Meanwhile, the PESA President, Lt Gen (Retd) Ali Kuli Khan has tasked the Group, which has largest number of ex-servicemen serving its two private security companies, to provide free security on Sundays to all churches in Pakistan. All these ex-servicemen who will guard the churches are members of PESA. Brig (Retd) Simon Sharaf, will be the PESA Coordinator at all these churches, he maintained.
