Fire breaks out at private oil refinery

HUB Oct 27 (PPI): Several labourers were injured when fire broke out at a private oil refinery along Gaddani beach Tuesday. Installations were also affected by fire. Refinery was shut after fire.
According to details fire broke out at Unit 2 of Byco Oil Refinery situated near Hubco Power Plant near here today. This oil refinery purifies crude oil. Fire immediately engulfed major installations of refinery. Smoke and flames so rising caused problems to fight flames.
Fire could not be controlled in time. Keeping situation in view Hubco sent two fire brigades to fight rising flames. Local Baloch workers played important role in fighting flames at the risk of their lives. Several workers were injured. Injured boiler engineer and other workers were shifted to Karachi and admitted into Aga Khan Hospital for treatment.
Crude oil refinery plant was closed. Long of queues of oil tankers were seen near the refinery after its closure.
