Ahsan Mehboob to assume office of IGP today

QUETTA: The newly appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ahsan Meboob is due to assume the office of IGP today (Monday) here.
The PSP officer, Ahsan Mehboob is the 30th provincial Police chief of Balochistan. He has replaced Muhammad Amlesh, who has been directed to report to the Establishment Division.
Prior to appointment as IGP Balochistan, Mr. Mehboob was serving as the Secretary Federal Ombudsman. He has also served as the Additional Inspector General of Police, Administration in Balochistan, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Quetta and the Commandant Balochistan Constabulary.
He had been appointed as ASP in 1982 and remained posted as DPO Mianwali, Kasur, Pak Pattan, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Mansehra, Abbotabad, Muzafar Garh, Gujrat and Rahim Yar Khan.
He has also served as the DIG Inspection and Vigilance Punjab, DIG IB Islamabad & Lahore.
