Taxation system to be improved in Balochistan, says Minister

QUETTA: Provincial Minister for Excise, Taxation, Revenue and Transport, Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has pledged to bring improvement in taxation system in the province.
He was talking to different delegations, who called on him here the other day.
He said that while the provincial government is determined to better the taxation in the province, it is also endeavoring to provide best possible travelling facilities to the passengers all over the province.
He said that the travelling facilities would be provided to the passengers through new buses and coaches. The Minister Transport said that the transporters have been asked to replace their old buses and coaches with the new ones so as to facilitate the passengers and make their journey comfortable.
Moreover, the buses and coaches are also being made bound to pay their taxes, otherwise they would be charged with fine.
The transport would not be allowed to ply on the roads without payment of the due taxes, Mandokhail asserted.
While on the other hand, it is also being ensured that the number of the computerized national identity cards (CNIC) and phone should be registered before issuing tickets to the passengers for their record. This is necessary for identification of the passengers in case of any mishap, he maintained.
The Minister Transport and Excise also said that the facility of insurance would also be provided to the passengers after consultation with the transporters.
Earlier, Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail presided over a meeting of the Transport Department. The Chief Secretary, Saifullah Chattha, Commissioner Quetta Division, Kambar Dashti, Commissioner Kalat Division, Muhammad Akbar Harifal, Secretary Transport, Muhammad Khalid Baloch, Secretary Provincial Transport Authority, Abdul Khaliq Mandokhail, Commissioner Zhob Division, Fawad Rabbani, Commissioner Sibi Division, Ghulam Ali Baloch, besides other concerned high ups attended the meeting.
While addressing the meeting, Mandokhail stated that the present government is committed to provide better traveling facilities to the general public as it is its responsibility as well to do so.
The Minister Transport maintained that the government is taking serious steps for provision of facilities to the passengers of all routes in the province.
The meeting discussed the matters pertaining to bring to an end to running of the buses of old model and improve their condition in light of the judgment of the court of law.
