Worries of transporters about replacement of old local buses to be removed: PTA

QUETTA: The Provincial Transport Authority (PTA) has decided to remove the reservations of transporters regarding replacement of old local buses in the metropolitan.
Reservations of the transporters would be removed with regard to replacement of the old fashioned local buses plying on different city routs, and in this regard, a policy is needed to be formulated, stated the Secretary PTA, Abdul Khaliq Mandokhail while addressing a meeting of the officers and other concerned staff of the department here the other day. Also present on the occasion was the Focal Person, Mir Jan Muhammad Muhammad Hassani.
The meeting focused on the reservations of the transporters over replacement of the old buses with the new ones. The Secretary PTA maintained that the steps being taken by the government are for the welfare of transporters and the public.
We would avoid taking any step which may harm the interests of the transporters, he made it clear. He also pledged to take all the concerned stakeholders on board in this regard.
He admitted that the transporters have played important role in improving condition of the local buses in the provincial capital. The transporters have also spent heavy amount in this regard, he maintained.
Those who have brought remarkable improvement in condition of their buses deserve appreciation, he said. However, all others should also improve the state of their buses so that the travelers may not suffer.
It is appreciable that the transporters have followed the government’s guidelines, the Secretary PTA said.
He assured that we would ensure that the transporters may not suffer much financial loss.
