QUETTA: The Chief Secretary Balochistan, Saifullah Chattha has stated that the annual Sibi Festival would be celebrated with great enthusiasm this year.
He was chairing a meeting that was meant for reviewing arrangements of the Sibi Festival here the other day. The Inspector General of Police, Ahsan Mehboob, Secretary Home and Tribal Affairs, Captain ® Akbar Hussain Durrani, Secretary Agriculture, Abdul Rehman Buzdar, Secretary Services and General Administration Department, Bilal Ahmed Jamali, Secretary Local Government Department, Abdul Majid, Secretary Communications, Ali Ahmed Mengal, Commissioner Sibi Division, Ghulam Ali Baloch, besides other concerned high ups.
The Commissioner Sibi briefed the meeting in detail about the arrangements made and being made for the Sibi Festival. He said that the stalls would be set up by different provincial government departments in the festival.
Moreover, the cultural show, fire work, musical programme and other programmes would also be arranged.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Secretary maintained that Sibi Mela is a historic and cultural festival. He said that such festivals help improve the economy of the province and this particular festival not only promote the culture but also the national solidarity, he maintained.
He directed to the concerned authorities to ensure timely completion of arrangements of the Sibi Festival. In addition to that, the effective security measures should also be adopted, adding he stressed.
As the people visit the Festival from all over the province, so it is responsibility of the government to protect them and other people, he stated.
The Chief Secretary also mentioned that the Local Bodies convention would be organized on occasion of the Sibi Festival.
The Chief Minister, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri and other provincial ministers would also attend the LB convention, he maintained.
