Ongoing campaign against encroachments expedited in provincial metropolis

QUETTA: The Quetta district administration has decided to expedite the ongoing campaign against encroachments and poor cleanliness situation in the provincial metropolis.
The decision to this effect was made during a meeting held to review the measures for removal of the encroachments, illegal parking, push cards and wall chalking in different parts of the city.
The Deputy Commissioner Quetta, Dawood Khan Khilji presided over the meeting. Those who were present in the meeting were included: Chief Metropolitan Officer, Attaullah Baloch, Assistant Commissioner Quetta City, Muhammad Tariq Mengal, Assistant Commissioner Quetta Sadar, Munir Ahmed Mosiani, Incharge anti-encroachment cell, Muhammad Aslam Baloch, besides other concerned officials.
As part of the ongoing campaign against poor cleanliness and encroachments, it was decided to put marking on all the roads of city during the campaign.
Stern action would be taken against those establishing encroachments and blocking roads, it was decided further.
It was warned that the shops of the violators would be sealed while the goods would be confiscated.
In this regard, the district administration and Metropolitan Corporation would take action jointly on the daily basis as per the plan to be devised.
Moreover, action would also be taken against the illegal parking, stands, show rooms and push carts in order to ensure smooth flow of the traffic.
The necessary notices have already been issued to the shopkeepers by the Metropolitan Corporation. Despite the notices issued for several times, the violation of the same is being made.
Therefore, it was decided to take stern action against the encroachers and those creating hurdles in smooth flow of traffic.
Moreover, it was also decided to remove the posters and small flags placed by different political parties in different parts of the city.
The action would also be taken against wall chalking removing the same, it was also decided. While on the other hand, the steps would also be taken to beautify the city by cleaning footpaths and installing street lights.
Meanwhile, action was taken against the encroachments and others creating problems in the flow of traffic on Circular road, Jinnah road and Shahrah-e-Iqbal (Qandhari bazaar) the other day.
The encroachments were removed from the roads confiscating the goods.
It was warned to the shopkeepers to remove the encroachments established in front of their outlets voluntarily, otherwise stern action would be taken against them.
