Democratic path only way to overcome challenges facing the country: PM

NEW YORK, Sept 26 (Online): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said there was no other way left except to follow the democratic path to overcome the multifarious problems facing Pakistan.
He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of U.S-based Pakistan Muslim League-N office-bearers and workers who called on the PM.
The PM asked workers to make their contribution in strengthening the democratic foundations of Pakistan as the country’s future lies in democracy, according to party sources.
He said there was no other way left except to follow the democratic path to overcome the multifarious problems facing Pakistan.
Nawaz Sharif, who is PML-N chief, said the recent transition in Pakistan from one democratic government to another—augurs well for the country. A good democratic precedent has been established and must be carried on.
He said this was the time to look forward, not backwards, and move decisively to confront the challenges. In this context, he said he doesn’t believe in the politics of revenge.
The prime minister told his party workers that he would never compromise on national interests, which are supreme.
Earlier, Ruhail Dar, president of PML-N, USA, expressed confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and assured of full support in his nation building efforts.
