LHC issues show cause notice to PU VC

LAHORE, Sept 26 (APP): The Lahore High Court Thursday
issued a show cause notice to Vice Chancellor Punjab
University Dr Mujahid Kamran for October 7 on a contempt
petition for disobeying court orders.
Justice Muhammad Khalid Mehmood Khan passed the
orders on a contempt petition filed by Uzma Zia.
Earlier, the petitioners counsel submitted that the
petitioner moved a petition for issuance of her result card
for LLB Part II, supplementary exam 2009.
He said that the petition was disposed of by the court
observing that the respondent was unable to deny issuance of
pass result card to the petitioner but he orally stated that
it was fake.
He said that the court remitted the matter to the Vice
Chancellor with a direction to decide the authenticity of the
result card within a month after examining record and hearing
the petitioner.
He submitted that the VC failed to comply
with the court directions, therefore, contempt proceedings
should be initiated against him.
The court after hearing the arguments issued a show cause
notice to the VC as to why contempt proceedings
should not be initiated against him for disobeying court orders.
