6 dead, 20 injured in explosion at Jaffar Express

MACH Oct 7(PPI): Six passengers died and 20 sustained injuries, several critically in two explosions at railway track when Rawalpindi bound Jaffar Express was passing near here Friday.

Inspector General Frontier corps Balochistan major General Sher Afgun visited the site and supervised rescue activities.

According to details two explosions occurred between rail track some 7 Km form here today when Rawalpindi bound Jaffar Express train was passing from there. Bogey no 3 was badly damaged while bogey no 9 was slightly damaged in the explosion.

Six passengers died and 20 sustained injuries some critically. Those died were Muhammad Waseem, Muhammad Azeem, Amanat Ali, Shamsullah, Nadir Ali and Ahmadullah.

Injured were airlifted to Quetta and shifted to CMH for treatment. They included Shahid, Muneer, Bashir Ahmed, Mohsin Ali, Saqib Hussain, Abu Bakr, Tariq Aziz, Sultan, Mst Humera wife of Mohsin Ali, Mst Fatima wife of Abu Bakr and an unknown. Condition of injured women was said to be stable while several injured were in critical condition.

Inspector General Frontier corps Balochistan major General Sher Afgun visited the site of explosion He supervised rescue operation at the site. He also enquired about health of injured passengers present there.

Speaking on the occasion he said all resources would be mobilized to take terrorists targeting innocent people to task.
