Modern techniques changing police culture: DPO

TIMERGARA Sept 27 (APP): District Police Officer Dir Lower Mian
Jamshaid Inamullah Kakakhel has said that Police Station culture is
changing with the recently introduced reforms in the policing by the
present KP Government.
Introduction of online system of FIR's registration and installation of
CCTVs in the police stations were such reforms that provided a great sigh of relief to the people.
The new police system, he said, was yielding positive results and people
were getting relief in resolution of the problems. He expressed these views while addressing people here at the Open Katchery.
He informed that an inquiry was also underway to probe the matter that
some policemen of Special Police Organization (SPO) have proceeded abroad either to Dubai or Saudi Arabia and their salaries were being drawn at their place of postings.
He said of the total 1050 such cops, 66 have confirmed gone to foreign
countries in search of better livelihood and their salaries were being drawn here by some of the culprits in the department.
The DPO said that the number of such absentee cops may increase after
the completion of inquiry report.
He also mentioned about the growing traffic problems in main bazaars of
the district including Khal, Timergara, and Rabat areas where due to excessive encroachment, traffic hazards witnessed during peak hours.
To avoid traffic mess, he said checking by traffic police
on main roads has been stopped in order to discourage the culture
of minting money through illegal means and unnecessary disturbance to the drivers.
He said that total ban has been imposed on the use of tinted glasses by
the motorists. There would be total ban on riding bike by the underage people. Those found guilty would be heavily fined and their bikes would be confiscated.
