Navy's relief and rescue in quake-hit areas of Balochistan continues

KARACHI, Sept 27 (APP): While employing all possible resources,
Pakistan Navy continues its extensive efforts for swift provision of
relief and rescue support to the earthquake affectees of Balochistan.
A Pakistan Navy press release here on Friday said that the
Commander Karachi, Vice Admiral Khawaja Ghazanfar Hussain, visited
earthquake victims at PNS Shifa today.
These patients were transported from Dandar, Kech to Karachi
through Pakistan Navy helicopters.
Troops of Pakistan Navy Marines and SSG(N) have already been
working in the quake-hit areas along with a team of Pakistan Navy
hydrographers to assess the damage caused due to earthquake.
Relief goods, medicine, food items and tents are being provided
to the quake affectees through PN Fokkers and helicopters.
On Thursday additional sorties of Fokkers were arranged for swift
provision of much needed relief support with more than 3,000 Kg of
relief goods including life saving drugs, dry ration and tents.
While declaring emergency in a bid to tackle the ongoing
sufferings, round the clock viz uninterrupted medical services and
support is being provided at Pakistan Navy hospital PNS Darmaan Jah,
Ormara to the populace of quake affected areas.
A medical camp has also been set up in Gawadar to provide medical
treatment and free medicines to the patients.
The Pakistan Navy rescue and relief operation is still going on
and maximum efforts are being made to provide relief to the quake
stricken people of Balochistan.
