Military means alone not suffice to curb terrorism: Sartaj

NEW YORK Sept 28 (Online): Pakistan has reaffirmed its desire for a peaceful‚ stable and prosperous neighbourhood through enhanced economic cooperation and resolution of outstanding issues peacefully.
Speaking at the ministerial meeting of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in New York‚ Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs and National Security‚ Sartaj Aziz‚ reiterated the government's resolve to create a democratic and prosperous polity in Pakistan.
On the issue of terrorism‚ Sartaj Aziz stressed that military means alone do not suffice to defeat terrorism.
He underlined the need for evolving a multi-dimensional strategy that included dialogue‚ economic opportunities‚ resolution of long-standing political disputes and hope and justice.
The Adviser noted that disarmament and non-proliferation mutually reinforce each other and are essential to ensuring international peace and security.
