15 killed as major quake rocks Awaran, Mashkay other areas

QUETTA Sep 28 (PPI): Another fifteen people died and over 50 injured as a major earthquake once again rocked Awaran, Mashkay, Quetta and other parts of Balochistan Saturday.
According to deitlas an earthquake of major intensity of 7.2 on Richter scale jolted vast area of Balochistan including Quetta, Pishin, Sibi, Kharan, Turbat, Awran and Mashkay at 12.34 pm today. Epicentre of this earthquake was about 150 Km south west of Khuzdar. It was 47 Km deep.
Mashkay which was earlier worst hit by earthquake few days back was again badly hit. All the houses were razed to the ground. Fifteen people were killed and over 50 were injure din this tehsil of Awaran District.
After earthquake people came out fo their houses, shops, offices and other places. A severe fear gripped them.
Deputy Commissioner Awaran Abdul Rasheed Baloch told that all houses in Village Nok Joki of Tehsil Mashkay were destroyed. Communication system was completely dislocated due to earthquake. Ten persons buried under debris were recovered whie search of others was underway. DC Awaran said that two more teams have been sent to Nok Joki for medical cover. Patients undergoing treatment at the hospital at Awaran and medical staff came out of their houses.
On the other hand a five minute break was made at the session of Balochistan Assembly here today.
