Pak Navy starts biennial war games

Karachi, Oct 01 (Online): Pakistan Navy has started biennial war game named Shamsheer-e-Behr-V here on Tuesday.

Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Mohammad Asif Sandila was chief guest in the opening session of the games took place here on the same day.

Speaking on the occasion, Admiral Asif Sandila accentuated the significance of war game in naval operational planning process for formulating new concepts and doctrines.

Sandila emphatically referred to the importance of ensuring impregnable seaward defence and enhanced relevance of Pakistan Navy towards emerging maritime security challenges.

The CNS added that SHAMSHEER-E-BAHR-V is basically a tri-service event, but representation of relevant Ministries will further facilitate refinement of various concepts.

Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Operations), Rear Admiral Kaleem Shaukat presented an overview of war game outlining its objectives and concepts to be tried.

The CNS expressed satisfaction in the realistic visualization of maritime scenario, in depth analysis and precision in decision making by Force Commanders who presented their detailed plans.
