Fazl meets Shahbaz: Govt has bought forward Parliament’s consensus stance regarding talks with Taliban, says CM Punjab

LAHORE Oct 3 (Online): Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman held a meeting Thursday with Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in Lahore.

Both leaders discussed overall political and security situation of the country.

On this occasion, Punjab CM reiterated that the government will restore peace in the country at all costs. He said meeting with Fazlur Rehman was encouraging and they would continue this effort in future as well.

He said although PML-N had gained simple majority in the National Assembly but issues would be resolved in mutual consensus. He said that government has bought forward Parliament’s consensus stance regarding talks with Taliban.

He expressed dismay at Taliban’s system and said that what sort of a system are they running in which one Muslim is being killed by another Muslim.

Meanwhile, JUI-F chief said that his party will endorse every positive step of the government.
